On Friday April 6, Sandy City broke ground on the public works building damaged by fire more than a year ago. It will be exciting to see this facility progress - from just models and sketches to a building that will service the community of Sandy.
“We were living in a tin building anyways, but it was time to build a good building," Gladbach said. "Something that the employees can be proud of. Something the city can be proud of."
In January 2017, a devastating fire destroyed many snows plows, equipment, and heavily damaged structure of the old public works building. With the insurance money, Sandy City is able to rebuild the public works building in a phased construction. The facility will take about 11 months to complete and should be ready for Sandy City to occupy early 2019.
