Lehi North Bench Fire Station
As the City of Lehi has rapidly expanded over the last decade, the city was in dire need to provide the citizens the necessary fire and EMT services and reduced response time to cover the North Eastern area of city. Prior to the commission of station #82, Lehi was dependent on station #81 to provide these services the entire population which led to response times on average of 15 minutes at the outer boundaries of the city. Lehi City’s master plan includes a total of 5 fire stations with JRCA commissioned to provide planning, conditional use approvals, design and construction administration services for the city’s second, station #82. The approval process included multiple citizen open house meetings prior to planning commission approval as station #82 was planned for within a residential developed area and with multiple citizen concerns to the overall design and safety concerns, JRCA provided solutions to address all public needs. The restraints of the design included careful consideration with building height limitations regarding surrounding residential construction, exterior facade material with complimenting color selections to adjacent structures and appropriate exterior equipment screening.
