Millcreek Youth Center Renovations

In efforts to meet the ever increasing need for Juvenile Correction Facilities throughout Utah, the state authorized the design and construction of 72 secure beds in the Ogden area of Northern Utah. The project was originally planned as a new stand alone facility to be constructed through a design/ build delivery method. However, during the programming phase JRCA Architects was able to illustrate to the state a substantial savings (both monetary and scheduling) through expanding the existing Millcreek Youth Center rather than constructing a new facility.

The expanded facility houses 114 Youth with a new gymnasium, food service, vocational workshops, and additional classroom space. The administration, outdoor recreation yards, receiving visitation, and medical areas were also replaced to accommodate the increased population.
